Evaluative thinking, I have sort of come to
realise over a number of different projects, that it has be absolutely central to innovation,
to even regular practice. Because, so much teaching and learning doesn’t
have the impact we hope. And, so much professional development doesn’t
have the impact we hope. And we can waste or get into real activity
traps if we are doing something that must be good, as opposed to taking a really sort
of hard look at well, this is what we are doing and it can be good teaching but is it
effective teaching in terms of the outcomes for learners. So, it needs to underpin all school activities.
