"Like" Lokon: Piloting OMA at other colleges and universities

There are 12 universities that have
agreed to participate in this pilot program. Eight of them are medical
schools, and the other three are offering health science education, a couple
in occupational therapy and one in speech therapy, but they all focus on
aging adults. The purpose of this project is to see if we could improve the
attitudes of medical students and health science students so that they become
better at communicating and connecting with people who have dementia or older
people in general by being exposed to OMA training, OMA experience, sitting
one-on-one with someone who has dementia. We have seen how this program benefits
undergraduate students of any majors. So, we have studies in research showing that
their attitude towards older adults with dementia have become more positive.
